Pain's Deception
Location
To break open the heart
to crack the ribs
to peel skin
for screaming limbs
to squeeze arteries
to gush blood
to breath in society’s dying love
And what's left? Some may ask,
we’ve bled reality
been left stained by tragedy
our expectations left crushing perceptions
but its all been deception
And what's left? Some may ask,
once we’ve realized the hearts fate
under crushing weight our bones carry
And what’s left? Some may ask,
when we’re defined by test scores
cracked by our peers chores
bleeding through the sewn skin without gauze,
there is no cause
And what's left? Some may ask,
What’s
Left?
This is what we’ve forgotten:
This is life.
to break open the heart
to crack the ribs
to cure the veins
to heal the stains
to never quit when heart cries
for all we are is more than tries
more than failures
more than regret
we are meant,
to
live
for
more
And what’s left? Some may ask,
when we are hiding behind our pain
enclosing ourselves in veins
Nothing
We have nothing until we are vulnerable,
to love is to let the heart beat in the cracked empty chest until revival causes life,
to be vulnerable is to love,
to break open
the heart
