What is the rain but tears from the sky?
Explained by science as a simple cycle of the earth's life
But is it so simple
when it gets so extreme
that it knocks over trees
and the animals
gliding in their metal machines
can't see through their transparent sand?
Can we chide the animals for feeling so deeply
when the sky does the same?
When the sky feels for them and says they're perfectly sane?
The clouds are the sky's eyes
and they, too,
like the animals'
