Good Man

Why can I not be faithful
Why can I not be something other than a criminal
I want to be something more
But that something was stolen like money from a register
Out of feelings for want, lust and at the end of a gun
I wanted to do right
Not be a criminal for the rest of my life
I wanted to be a shinning star
A twinkle in an eye
But instead I ended what was not mine
I broke the mind of another
And I broke a will to live
Now I am crying out to you
My salvation
My sweet sweet hectic harmony
I want to be a good man
I want to taste what it's like
I want to feel what it is like to have hope
Not to just have nightmares
I want to feel safe
But their is only one place I know that I love
And that is in your arms
