The trains don't stop here

Anymore

They closed the station

Locked the door

The town is abandoned

Only the buildings are there

The houses are empty

Ther streets are al bare

The townspeople have left

They've all gone away

The elderly, with regret

Wishing they could stay

For they remember the better times

The times of prosperity and fun

When money wasn't a problem

there were jobs for everyone

The times when laughter abounded

When everyone wore a smile

This world was a perfect place

At least for a while

Then came the depression

The smiles were replaced by tears

The good times replaced by bad

The fun replaced with fears

Now no one takes those trains

There's no longer a stop here

For this station's been closed

For many a year.
