Real

When I was young my momma told me I could be anything

When I was young they told me I could rule the world

When I was young they said you can be anything

But when I got older it changed

When I got older I lost my worth

When I got older I was all product and no potential

When I got older they told me to be real

We gotta be up front from the start

We gotta stop changing what we say to our kids

We gotta stop telling them they're all gonna be astronauts when

most of them are not

We gotta be real
