Head down in a book,
Hiding my braces,
Fearing they may look,
Always so abrasive.

Head high like a rook,
Not afraid of their gazes,
Have them by the hook,
My name is...
Well who cares, anyway?
Who has truly cared as to whether or not my mouth formed words?
I was an outcast,
A weirdo,
A lame boy,
Geek,
Nerd,
Goggles...
It’s always fun when something totally consumes you.
When your mind goes blank and feeling lost becomes fun.
Those who don’t know me call me weird
Those who love me call me a bird
I spread my wings up and I set to fly but then I realize I still have awhile

Sure, that's me.
That is my name.
The first thing people see.
But when they let themselves in,
And pass through the door,
When they find themselves inside,
But not finding what for,
Words lose their meaning throughlies and deception. They begin as mere plain text with a definition to follow, but soon are tossed around in a batter ofgenerously margined synonyms and false connotations.
I am not oh-so-beautiful
I am no princess in truth
I haven't a drop of royal blood
Nor silver save my filled tooth
Perhaps one may overlook me
Give me not a chance
All my life I’ve hidden behind books,
But who am I without them?
Am I athletic? Funny? Do I have looks?
I’m searching for myself in all my brain’s nooks
I have accomplished a lot in my lifetime:
Before I speak, they believe in the simple and common that lies within me,
After I speak, they flee and judge from afar.
Time after time, many don't understand,
I am only a girl,a girl with a heartand a soul made of glass.

Behind the Curtain sits a man
Surrounded by dice and by books,
By running shoes and painted miniatures,
And no, he’s not alone.
There’s friends and family too,
I’m a nerd, a geek,
A little girl with a book on the playground
Not the easiest kid to be around
But now things have changed and rearranged
Just kidding, I’m involved in the knowledge exchange
Hey, there
I’m a nerd
Better yet, I’m a geek
I actually read for the fun of it
I like going to school
I’m pretty smart (most of the time)
I wear solid black glasses
I may be quiet,
I may be shy,
but that doesn't mean
recognition will kill me.
What I'm doing right
-homework, quiet, listening-
even if everyone else is disregarding your voice,
We are voiceless.
Our feet are turned to iron.
We're lobbed into a torrential river
Of expectations.
Ideals. They say,
“The perfect child is ours.
“No flaws here.
Teachers don’t work hard nowadays
Rather than focus on education
They focus on my grades
I may have passed your damn class
I’m told I will never belong
I speak and act equally as they
I’m told I should go back home
Home? But this is my home
Countless opportunities will be lost
All lost to a nine digit number
Sheltered.I had no choiceIn the high school I attendedI am Catholic; Therefore, to a Catholic Ladies' schoolI shall go.
Sweaty palms and the nervous biting of my nails
let me just start by saying that i hate pop quizzes
Confused looks on my face don't mean i am stupid
I was tangled around the spider web you’ve
Been weaving throughout your life
Messing around always keeping me down
But then why did I want more?
Yeah this ones for the nerds.
This ones for the geeks and the freaks.
This ones for the misfits who don’t give a shit about what you think!
I find it funny when people still try to use the labels from old 80’s movies.
The jock, the brain, the princess, basket-case, criminal.
And in my case, I struggle to decipher which I would be.
“You are beautiful”That’s exactly what he saidKnowing in the back of his headHe just wanted what was in between her legsAnd after this act of pure emotionHe goes back and tell his friends

It’s strange to think how this all began.
A simple story about a an orphaned boy
That conquered evil and changed my life.
