Myriads of Haitian-Americans will vote in the next US election
We are sending stern warnings to the current administration
We will vote for one party and we will rock the boat
Nobody thought the man could win,
that King of Broken Things,
but he showed his vulgar mind
and gave our demons darker wings.
America knew this man was evil
just not to which degree,
12 percent of me is in the moment,
15 is withdrawn,
Because 30 is wasted on stress,
And 43 wants to right all the wrongs.
Our world seems to be fading,
Split apart at the seams
On November the 6th, I voted against Phil Bredesen.Yesterday, I was pleased to learn that he didn't win.I also voted against Bredesen once before.Back in 2006, when he was Tennessee's Governor.
Rora wakes up to the sound of Monday morning news,
except, she doesn’t know what it’s talking about:
nonsense, fighting over agreeing,
two sides of the same coin.
The nurse comes rushing,
If there is liberty and justice for all
Why is it that you only seem to hear the white-man's call
Are my cries not enough
Am I just an angry black woman
Who always feels the need for things to be just
November 9, 2016, 00:00, you open nytimes .comand the American map glaring back at youis red, like Muslim blood, like Mexican blood, like American blood.
The excitement grows like a great inhale
Watching the glass ceiling’s break come to bear
Friends around me ensuring sense will prevail
Yet nothing comes to stop the hate in the air
Said he would make it great again
Too bad it was just pretend
Where once they were welcomed, they now flee
Tyranny, fascism, and maximum authority
Could thou have a change of heart?
Make us one to be admired

Do you want to know what it’s like to be introverted?
Imagine you are at a pool; music playing, people laughing
You splash your way around, treading on the tips of your toes
Floating
Have you heard, have you heard,
Of this feather-shedding bird,
The eagle, our freedom, our country, our cause?
It’s sick, it is, sick as a dog,
With dried up eyes and ears and tongues for laws.
It began as it always does: empty promises, hollow resolutions, and the hope of a blank slate despite all else.
It began with the same empty conversations, the same inevitable vows for a better tomorrow.
I am a part of Generation Z and amending society
I wonder what waits for me after this inaguration
I hear voices in protest and anger
We fight to win we fight to win
We close our eyes
We stop our ears
We shout to shout
Not to convince or tell a truth
We fight to win we fight to win
wrestling with an impression of myself, confidence scant and creativity diluted,I found solace in the arms of a soldier who decidedmy dreams encompassed all the world-just not the war he was fighting.
There's a group of people, living in silence - in the darkenss
Many are aware of their existence
Many are not
Who am I to shine light on them - shine the truth
It makes me sick to the stomach
I didn’t have a voice
It was robbed
By the feeling of uncertainty
It’s an easy feeling
To feel trapped
As I sat in my world history class the words, “change and continuity over time” played in my head like a broken record.
The Election.
My biggest fear.
I never thought my life would come to this,
Sent into this spiraling abyss,
With family and friends,
Neighbors and lovers,
Torn apart by the threat of others.
Bloodless
If in designation we find substance,
We are neither truly rich nor poor.
I know what you see when you look at me.
At least I fear as you.
I truly believe that every human on this Earth is born with a desire to save the world,
and somewhere along the way,
we realize that this world does not want to be saved.
All were hunched in fear as we looked and saw
Our eyes glued to the pixels counting down
The end. My father’s face began to sink,
Donald Trump has 306 electoral votes and Hillary Clinton has 232.Hillary's supporters are causing violence and that is a lousy thing to do.
I am taking a test, but I don't know what the subject is about. I didn't ask to take this test.I flip to the first page. The questions are simple, but I cannot answer them.
Can you see fire in an empty cave?
For all its dwellers now swarm
My home, gun-ho towards
All who have a voice.
At least they did...
I can see a mirror in the past,
“Mommy, what’s that noise?” I said.
She paused the news and cocked her head.
“Cheering—from New York!” In awe,
We joined with glee the hissing RAWR!
You don't want to vote.
It's corrupt.
It's useless.
It's a pain.
It's a bore.
It's too hard.
Tell that to women who were told they were too emotional to make decisions.
Every four years,
We see something so rough that it brings some to tears.
It's not a disaster;
People come together to pick our political master.
First there was twenty, now there are two.
The orange old man
that tried to make a ban
Is on his fourth wife
Yet he still has no life
He opned hotels in Vegas
Which made him famous
This man named Donald Trump
The platforms are my heels, votes garnered with the slick smile on my face.
Pristine pearls and playful pins make my ballots better.
What are my chances of
Actually winning?
Does it matter?
If I only try – does that count?
Rejection
Doesn’t sit well with me,
Failure is almost
Unbearable.
There’s a key to success,
