I feel as more than flesh and bone
When I walk my feet don’t drag a corpse
Because I’ve heard the song of my heartbeat’s tone,
The melody beyond all words
Don’t ever dream to wage a war
Against the powers that be
You’ll scratch and claw and only get sore
Everybody says
“You Won’t Make It Big,”
but I’m telling you
Right now
I will.
They hate and try to stand in
My way, but that’s not what
I care about,
Not Now… even still.
