Today was like every other day
It was so terribly long and so terribly dreary
I fear these feelings will never end

All of the lights against the floor,
music floating through the room.
Women dressed to be looked at soon,
the eligible approaching in groups of four.
Once upon a time, I was a princess
I was a beauty who lived in a castle;
I sang with the birds, spoke gracious words,
But all the while found my stigma a hassle
There was a prince I was supposed to love,
Petite fish in the sea,
little mermaid so lonely,
wallows in watery ennui.
Enough's enough and life is tough.

Once Upon a Time…
The only son of a King and his Queen was cursed,
His fate sealed by the cruel hand of a dark fairy.
Once upon a time
Cinderella doesn’t get a job and leave home
Snow White’s dwarves are her lysosomes
Rapunzel keeps reaching for that comb
It doesn't take much to change a mind,
unless you have one just like mine.
A choice was given to me just last year,
And I could only think "Oh dear, Oh dear."
I had to choose, go left or go right,
There are days when I feel alone
Not knowing how to atone
For the reason why I am feeling
Like I should be concealing.
A text message grabs my attention
Filling me with apprehension.
There is a girl,
And she is young pretty and bright.
But, she lived with words inside of her, like a parasite.
They could be nice, gentle and loving,
like a mother is to a child.
Noise, noise, all of the noise
Yelling, screaming, yelling, screaming
It gets louder as it enters my head
Headaches, not only headaches,
Bruises, cuts, and scrapes too,
If you want to lose weight, lose weight
Come with me and be my wife.
Skydiving, hand gliding, and cliff diving
Kayaking or even adventurous sailing
You name it and you will see
Flickering fire shines our dates
