My skin is smooth fearfully and wonderfully made by God
From the top of my head to the soles of my feet I am vibrant
I am drenched in caramel my skin glows against the beam of sunlight
Dreams sparked in thoughts
For money beyond,
For love and respect and freedom,
For bright musical schools,
Dreams dropped in two dollar days,
In dark "school" hallways,

And maybe my shoulders scream it too
Or maybe it's in our stride
And strong voice and afros
I'm Black With Some Regret

Every May brings a Daisy that just isn't right,
Can't apprehend the meaning of a different light,
