I awoke to find my passion was driven away.
The reassurance that I was supposed to be here, had left its sudden stay.
An engineer I am to be or so I thought -
The cool shadow of ambiguity miserly besets.
This shame you make me feel
For telling the truth
For standing up for myself
Is shame unjustified.
This guilt you plant in me
For apologizing
For being too honest
Is guilt unjustified.
Dishonesty creeping
Through trembling fingers
Acts normal on the outside
While hate grows within.
All the while guilt and
Apprehension stir in the object
Holding a vessel of emotion
I stood firm in my dilemma
Without a single thought in mind
I clutched the vessel
With a shivering hand
Wanting to crush it
To set the emotion
Free from the cells

I never appreciated you until I left that building,
Now I do the same things to my current professors,
Man I'm in need of some healing,
I want to tell you all the things I should have said,
Rough, old winds drummed against
The side of our shack, our lean-to home
Barely dead rain dampened our spirits –
Throw a stranger an unexpected smile.
Bitingly blue memories scream at me –
