Free your mind, free your mind
What does it mean, really, to "free your mind?
Is it to have a brain with no thought? Like weight with no size?
A boy began to learn how to mime at age two
His parents bought him a striped shirt
Told him to go make money on the corner of 1st avenue and 65th street
In front of the drug store
The only thing we can do is wonder
We could be as wrong as ever
But still holding on to the feeble endeavor
that the Philosophy is valid
that our life has meaning
I ask questions
Too many questions
I ask every question
But I am given no answers
"Why should my work
Be worth less than a man's?"
And I am greeted with silence
When you think about yourself,
and who you really are,
do you picture someone in the shadows,
or a blinding bright star?
But who you really are
is completely up to you,
because everybody has
Many wish to talk to me about the things I ought to be but understand I fought to be all the things I am right now.
