A Year Alone
I chose to go
To somewhere that was quite unknown
Whole new ideas
I had never heard
Ways of thinking I thought were absurd
And all my thoughts?
The pilot says
We're landing in thirty minutes
thirty minutes to prepare
for a new land
a new language
new people.
Should I be excited
or scared?
I left my friends,
