Nearly a year has passed since
I found myself situated in that
Psychiatric Behavioral Health Unit.
But not a day has passed that I
Don’t find myself reminiscing,
Missing the simplest of things.
I’m trapped inside routine
Ingestions of medication
Proven to numb the sickness
That wreaks havoc in my mind.
Of course, the pills work,
But only for a moment.
Freeing me from myself,
