A life time of ignorance, discrimination whispered into the billowing breeze, my articulation better than those of 'my kind', the prejudice that is passed from generation to generation,
The day I came into the world I was purple. My skin changed as the days went by. Light to dark in a flash.  My hair began to change, straight to curly. I could feel people's eyes on me, everywhere I walked.
Dark brown eyes almost black glistening in the sea of bright blue   Tightly coiled hair Nappy from root to end Surrounded by bone straight blonde   My siblings are biology I am manmade
I was born in Aztlan And raised in the Mother Land My Mother Is La Malinche My Uncle is Tom And I am Joaquin My blood is as pure as Gold And as colorful as Granite
