Slam for Suicide Awareness and Prevention

Actor and comedian Robin Williams died on Monday, August 11, 2014; the most likely cause of death is suicide. Another person’s death is always a shock to the system, but for many of us this death is particularly troubling — not only because Williams was a constant presence in our favorite movies growing up, but because of his warm nature and sense of humor. We don’t expect someone so bright and funny to commit suicide.

If you’re feeling sad or scared or any kind of way, we want to hear about it! Tell us which of Robin Williams’ roles touched your life most. Or let us know what it’s like for you or a loved one to struggle with mental illness or suicide — and how we can support someone who’s going through a lot.

Need some inspiration? Check out our action guides on:

Mental Health and Suicide Awareness and Prevention. No matter what, don’t squash your thoughts and emotions… slam them!
