Flawless Scholarship Slam - CLOSED

We know there's a lot of information coming at you every day, and a lot of it can make you think you need to change: change how you look, behave, dress or talk to be more worthy or appealing.

Instead of focusing on the things that make you feel like you're not good enough, we want you to focus on a message from one of our favorite (kick*ss) role models and tell us all about what makes you FLAWLESS. Whether you woke up like this or you had to work hard to achieve it, write a poem about an aspect of yourself that is worthy of respect and admiration — and you could win $1,000 towards your college education!

Don't forget to share your poem on social media! The poems with 50 or more shares (which much be sent from the poem page on Power Poetry) will be the ones the Power Poetry team reads first.

  1. Make sure you're eligible! The basic requirements are this: (1) you are 25 years of age (or younger), and (2) you are a current or former high school student who will attend or is attending college within the U.S. or its territories.
  2. Add an original poem to Power Poetry by Friday, February 13, 2015. You'll need to register as a member of our community first.

Got questions? Our scholarship FAQ and contest rules should have the answers. If they don't, feel free to contact us.

If you need inspiration, look no further — we've got it! This blog post describes how we pick our scholarship winners, and you can also check out some of our winning poems (warning: they're awesome). Power Poetry's  Tip Guides can help you learn more about different poetic forms and styles. Words have power, so our Action Guides are meant to inspire and empower you to use poetry as a way to change your life — and the world!

Follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook for announcements about this scholarship and be sure to include #flawlessslam when you share your poems!

A face that's kind, With just few zits. A smile that is funnier than an orange rind, With a really slow wit.

Numb, cold, tired, aching, and exhausted. I am in survival mode, just trying to survive.
