i know
your heart aches
when you run out of distractions;
when your insomnia
takes the form
of the memories we once shared.
but it is...
she comes to visit sometimes,
she’ll stay for weeks,

she’s a pretty gal,
even though her makeup
tends to be smudged....

and busy highways.
