Down the hole.
You go alone.
You’re forced.
By an instance.
It doesn’t take much.
There was a promise,
it seemed to be solid,
at the time....
Below the rosebush,
thorn and brush
the soft
the dank
the muddy lie.
An unthought of underworld.
Where petals blacken, willows sigh.
A tear...
Where has gone the old,
and chivalrous
and virtuous?
Know not I, neither do others.
Among the dank and muddy lie
an old and worn out alibi...
All is sweet as death,
with life falling behind, turning sour,
as the trees sink below the horizon
and time moves on.
For I will not stand...
Why must you
have me crawl from the nooks
and crannies of stone crevices
into the hot sun?
I am hesitant, but
soon give it.
I have never...
