swift as the wind
sheer as the bride’s veil
sinking once again
and she’s
vacant in the room now
evanescent...
a single mom with nowhere to go,
a little boy looking for home.
a teenage druggie who followed the
wrong path,
a middle school girl...
killing us off like worthless flies
citizens not, it was all just lies
and we cry out salty tears
to hide, cowards, from our fears...
