Imagine that you are a marble mountain and the ground shakes.
Your crest topples, it had always teetered, but now, too late.
Tithe to Time...
The hangdog drops, they plunge in pure
For fifty feet or so at least,
And plummet to their deaths insured
As they themselves become...
Pain is a distraction,
A seductive jab at our pride, An enticing resignation.
It eats at us from the inside
Slowly at first:
"You can stop...
To my prey, I am the beast to which the means have become ends.
To my predators, I am the beast who they must sacrifice members before...
A long cold minute as you ponder what I say,
But what's the matter in the end if the end isn't anyway,
The old stars, if they are, frown...
