I am telling you
that it doesn’t matter
and you part lips
dip tongue
eye shift
shoulder slump
turn
done
and I am the one
left regretting.

it would be weird if i said

too many melted icecream

i keep wanting everything to be alright
but i know that happiness is a fallacy
