Intimately caressing my heart
Broken, not whole
Just falling apart
Every day
Is far too long
Every day
I learn I’m...
I will push you away.
I will hurt you.
I will tell the truth.
The many cruel truths.
Looking into that twisted mirror,
you will walk away...
If you held me tight,
Would I turn to dust?
I’ve given up this fight,
And let my dreams rust.
This path has reached the end,
Falling over...
I am the darkness,
Holding back the light.
Bitter, cold, and heartless,
Bearing only blight.
In a sea of humanity,
Washed upon the shore....
I’m sorry. [Bites cheek]
This was a bad idea.
For what? [Looks around as though help might be at hand]
