Why write a poem

Why not a persuasive essay to convince someone to do something

Why not a thesis to bring a new idea into the world

Why not a nonfiction book to educate

Why not a novel to entertain

Or a screenplay to animate some actors

Or a song to delight the ears

Oh I know why,

It is because a poem does all these things.
