Since you've been gone

Since you've been gone, I look for you in every face. I collect pieces of you in the notes of your favorite song. I close my eyes and make out the outline of your face and I make love to your memory. I mimick your motions, reminiscent of yesterdays times. I trace your footprints with my own and take every journey you've taken, and it leads me to my bedside. I smother my senses in my bedsheets, still dense with your scent. I drift to a place where I can taste your smile, I see your thoughts, I touch your soul, and I can listen to your silence. I've noticed that I've had to have you now more than ever...since you've been gone.
