You're Normal

Location

Every morning she wake up

wash her face

paint on her socially acceptable face and pretends

pretends of being something she is not

"WOW SHE HAS EVERYTHING"

"OH MY GOD SHE'S SO PERFECT"

"I WISH I WAS HER"

"SHE MUST BE THE HAPPIEST GIRL IN THE WORLD"

Perfect?

Far from

Happiest?

Ask her why she takes her Prozac and Xanax

Ask her where she goes when she says she is going to her friends

But never ask if she is okay

For if you ask if she is okay you will have shows sympathy for someone other than yourself

Lets play pretend

"THOU SHALL NOT JUDGE"

"AMERICAN THE FREE"

"UNIQUE IS BEAUTIFUL"

They say true beauty is within

But they have not seem within her soul

Her soul and mind filled with voices and thoughts she cannot escape

Shes paranoid of not living up to the images she has been exposed to since she was little of beautiful 30 year old size 00 models

embrace your flaws they say

If flaws are to be admired why are there thousands of beauty products to correct our flaws

Society has deemed women to spend their entire lives trying to perfect the cookie cutter image of beauty

She doesn't stay over for dinner because she says she has cheerleading practice

She stopped cheering three years ago

The fear of food

The fear of gaining weight

The fear of having curves and having to buy clothing to fit her newly filled body

"A BOY WILL NOT LOVE A FAT GIRL"

She skipped her best friends sweet 16 because she was scared to show her skin

One day she decides she is tired of the stigma society has on women

She voices her opinion but no one listens

"YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE DEPRESSED"

"HOW WOULD YOU KNOW THE PRESSURE OF BEING PERFECT?"

"BUT YOU HAVE NOTHING TO BE DEPRESSED ABOUT"

"YOU'RE NORMAL"

NORMAL, definition : has the ability to smile with occasional laughing, has friends, and is considerably good looking, while disregarding any emotional instability within.
