You're Beautiful

“You’re beautiful;

Even if you don’t know it”

As if the body I look at in the mirror is suitable,

Yet the heart weighs down the spirit.

The lines on my thighs,

The bags in my eyes,

The pains in my side,

All remind me

That I am not perfect.

Rather, the memories that scar

It’s not just a mark.

Underneath hold the truths

Much older than my youth

That make me beautiful.
