You'll notice

When you're little you won't notice.

Perhaps, they won't even do anything for you to notice.

You'll live your toddler days in sweet unknowing bliss.

But that's only if you're lucky.

Some of us, we won't get that unknown bliss.

We'll feel the hard stares.

Some of us will notice.

I don't think I ever noticed when it happened.

As a child I lived in sweet bliss not knowing some already hated me.

I was a cute innocent child, why would I be hated?

For something I could not control.

One thing I was proud of and wanted no one to take away.

But they don't care.

They think you don't notice, or they don't even notice the sting of their words.

But one day you'll notice.

When I noticed it was very much obvious.

Being sent to special english classes I thought I was advanced.

In their opinion I was the opposite.

They ran tests on me like a lab rat. At first I didn't notice.

Didn't realize they were wrong.

But my family noticed.

Racism is seldom ever noticed.

But it happens, your assumption.

The way you think, and speak.

People judge you by it.

And you'll notice.
