Before You Were Gone

Before you were gone,

life seemed normal,

I shared my days with our family,

going to school,

and meeting with friends

not having a worry in the world,

Before you were gone,

even though you were older

and living life

I always knew I could

hear you,

see you,

someday, sometime

Before you were gone,

the joy to talk to you

was like no other,

all those laughs,

all those precious moments

I will never forget,

because,

Before you were gone,

the sun was brighter,

a smile followed me everywhere,

and the thought of making new memories

never left my side,

you'll be forever in my heart,

even though you're now gone.
