In You, there's Me

My chest rises and falls.

Rises and falls.

I’m still breathing, but to him I’m nothing at all.

Days and days past,  I’m forgotten and betrayed.

Does one man’s actions conquer my grave?

I walk, I run, I play for fun.

But still, my destiny, has the rest of me.

My chest rises and falls

Rises and falls.

I’m still breathing, but to him I’m nothing at all.

I ask myself, why do I deserve such pain?

God, what is there to gain?

I walk, I run, I play  for fun.

Yet I, my strife, will not suffice.

My chest rises and falls.

Rises and falls.

I’m still breathing, but to him I’m nothing at all.

I’d rather die than have this pain , time to end.

what does it mean to live , my friend?

I walk, I run, I play for fun.

Still  me, my heart, is shriveled and brittle.

My chest rises and falls.

Rises and falls.

I’m still breathing, but to him I’m nothing at all.

A day, a year, its coming closer, it’s near.

The day my  smile can reach my eyes, the day I let myself  end wise.

I walk, I run, I play for fun.

My friend, you see me,  yet you don’t flee.

My chest rises and falls

Rises and falls.

I’m still breathing, but to him I’m nothing at all.

Life feels strange, not exactly the same.

I am I, something worth  more than just a fly.

I walk, I run, I play for fun.

With love, you help to heal , but I lost myself somewhere, it’s so surreal.

My chest rises and falls

Rises and falls.

I’m still breathing, but to him I’m foolish, just a doll.

My greatest accomplishment, yet so  far.

I let you in, you who shines like the north star.

I walk, I run, I see the sun.

My hand reaches out, yours, there, with no doubt.

My chest rises and falls

Rises and falls.

I’m still breathing, but to me, he’s a lesson, and now I’m tall.

One last question, is this heaven?

I am cared for,  I am  seven.

Now I walk, I run, I play in the sun.

In you, there’s me, I’ve been set free.
