YOU SAY

YOU SAY

You say ... only time will tell.

I say ... I want to hear your heart's bell.

I don’t need you.

But my heart wants to.

My soul does not need you.

But my heart yearns to love you....

Yes only time will tell.

For love took its toll with others.

A toll that smothers....

We know disillusion in fixing broken wings.

And all sorts of other things.

For we wanted to believe that fixed wings will stay.

Only to see the love fly away.

And leave us confused and bewitched.

Wondering if love was an on-off switch....

Alone were we in that past.
Wondering why it didn't last.
I am whole now and you're in my life.
Waiting for you to mend your heart's strife.
To heal the toll.
Come to me when you're whole....
