You Belong

It can hard to find the light

When all you know is darkness

and how to fight.

It seems as if it is a never ending cycle

 of you against the world.

But never lose sight that you’re a gem,

 a beautiful pearl.

There is so much more to life than fear

Open your eyes, breathe and listen

my dear.

A world filled with colors, love and laughter

Before it’s too late, embrace it all and write yourself a new chapter.

You may think you’re fast

But time is faster.

Art, music, theatre and literature all freely shine bright.

You see, the darkness is within you

but you’re always surrounded by the world’s light.

If you only focus on what’s inside

in the blink of an eye, it can all be gone.

So take a risk and expand your mind

Because all that is right in the world will never do you wrong.

You are here, alive, breathing, right where you belong.
