You Are Your Wealth

Sticks and stones

May break my bones

But words will never hurt me

A lie that people expect others to follow

But words tunnel through some people and create a person who is hollow

People say the same thing

As long as they didn’t touch you you’re fine

As long as no punch or item was thrown you’re fine

They just said that to you

It’s okay they didn’t hurt you

Get over it and stop being a wuss

But people underestimate the power of words

The destruction that can be caused by something heard

Words are bullets getting ready to be launched

Once the mouth is open

And the tongue is pulled

The bullet goes through the air

Straight to the victim's heart

Then a wound is created that no doctor can fix

That word and emotions begin to mix

And a terrible pain is produced

You can’t tell me that a broken bone has a huge boost

Over such a wound

Both are equally tuned

Yes there are people who aren’t damaged by words

But that’s not everyone in the herd

Words can make many people afraid to make a sound

Even though deep down they want to be found

But they can’t cause their mind tells them to stop fighting this round

That if they try to be heard

They’ll just be buried alive in a coffin with a tombstone

Signed with that name they were called

Don’t believe what they call you

Know that just because the round is done

The match has just begun

So don’t let yourself bleedout

Bandage your wound and sign it who you really are

Make it in bold then in all caps then underline it

Make sure all of them know exactly who you are

Beautiful

Let them tell you you’re not

But don’t let them convince you you’re not

Be patient because your time will come

So sit back and let them talk

And keep your head up as you walk

They’re just mosquitos trying to suck out your pride

Let them think they’re able to survive

Then when the right time comes

Flick all those mosquitos off

Show them your true strength

Make them afraid to come within arms length

We’ve all had our share of hard times

But that doesn’t mean we need to switch shoes to understand the crime

We can just sit and talk instead

Just share the experience that runs through our head

Just looking face to face

Will let us understand the difficulty of running each other’s race

So don’t be afraid to stand your ground

Don’t allow anyone to keep you down

Just wipe away that tear

And escape your fear

Cause your time is here

So be yourself

Cause only you have control over your own wealth
