You are Beautiful

If I could,

I would tell you that you’re beautiful.

The shape of your body,

soft curves of the moon,

stir the oceans of my emotions

and I have been thrown overboard.

If I could,

I would tell you that you’re beautiful.

The smell of your hair pressed against my cheek,

the scent of the roses growing in our garden,

draw me in for a hug so tight that when I let go

I hope that I too will smell like you.

If I could,

I would tell you that you’re beautiful.

The sweet taste of your lips pressed against mine,

milk chocolate melting in the warmth of my mouth,

I am afraid you will dissolve like sugar

which I am dangerously addicted too.

But instead,

I will tell you that you’re beautiful.

The wonders of your mind,

mysterious as the moon in the midnight sky,

entrance and calm the still waters of my soul

and I the astronomer wanting nothing more then to understand you.

Instead,

I will tell you that you’re beautiful.

The compassion and gentleness of your heart,

like a gardner tending to their flowers,

you strengthen and encourage me to grow

and become someone I never believed I could be.

But most of all,

I will tell you that you’re beautiful.

The entirety of your being far greater and more precious

then the way you intoxicate my senses

for the heart does not feel as the body does

nor look upon you as the way my eyes always do.

There is absolutely nothing more beautiful

than my love for you.
