You and Me

Thu, 04/07/2022 - 23:25 -- Marlow

Come spend with me, a perfect day.

Join me, my love, though pass it may,

We can seize this day together.

A day with you. Life is better.

Let us wake before the sunrise.

Come eat with me under new skies.

Lay back with me and we will gaze

Upon the heavens God made.

My love, let’s hop in the car.

Playing tunes, we will drive so far

Down the long and winding road.

The two of us, talking, time slowed.

Time is fleeting and passing quick.

You have an option. Please pick

To come with me and seize the day.

Though the days pass, memories stay.

Come spend with me, a perfect day.

Join me, my love, though pass it may,

We can seize this day together.

A day with you. Life is better.

Finally, our destination:

A diner, best in the nation.

My arm around you while we dine.

I wish the world could stay so fine.

But the sun soon begins to set.

We’re not done seizing the day yet.

The drive-in is where we will park.

You will fall asleep in the dark.

Eventually, the movie ends.

The end always comes, never extends.

Treasure the time, you in my arms.

I stare at you and at the stars.

Come spend with me, a perfect day.

Join me, my love, though pass it may,

We can seize this day together.

A day with you. Life is better.

You wake up with tears in your eyes.

We both know it’s time for goodbyes.

Though it is sad and days may end.

I’ll always be with you again.

Will you please seize the day with me?

We can do all these or none, B.

It does not matter what we do.

My day is seized when spent with you.
