You

I don't need any one thing in this world,

I don't need a what, or a where, or a how.

What I need is a who and who I need is you.

For the 19 years of my life you have kept me going,

You have kept me focused,  you have kept me strong,

Most importantly you have kept me alive.

You have cried more tears than I can count,

You have put me on your shoulders

even when you were crumbling beneath me.

You have made sure I lived a better life than you.

I'm not sure if I can even thank you.

How does one thank someone who put

aside their life to make sure their daugther

follows all of her dreams?

I think "I love you" works good enough.

I don't need much, I don't need anything at all.

But I'm not afraid to admit that I need you.
