A Year In The Life

A year in the life, didn’t make me a wife

But gave me more time

To discover

Deeper friendships than I’ve ever known

A mirror to show how I’ve grown

A tattoo engraved on my shoulder

To remind me when I’m older

We accept the love we think we deserve

I love you exchanged

Almost every day

This year brought me to you

This year brought me the truth

Where am I going with my life?

Grad school abroad to explore

Different lands and different doors

Which one to go through?

I pray the next year is kind

Ideas are outside the lines

And I am able to find

Another year with you
