Year of Guns

The media shows us the truth

That we are no longer the youth

But soldiers in a war

Where bodies pile up on our school floor

Another year gone and done

The world still ruled by who holds the gun

Another innocent life disappears

Drowned by the gunsmith's cheers

Another mass shooting

People keep thinking it's their job to do the executing

The government continues to do nothing

While we continue trusting

We fear change

So we all become a target range

This poem is about:
Our world
