Writing Space

Just write, I say

Images of you clutter my mind.

Images of us, writing together.

In that time and space, I felt free.

And then,

I pushed you away.

Away from everything I loved.

Away with one push.

One word.

Months later,

I am grateful that i pushed you away.

Away from my fears, my wavering health.

I'll tell the story of you and I to someone new.

And that boy will be glad it was never him that was pushed away.
