Worlds Apart

Location

She won’t listen when I say
She’s like me in any way.
She thinks she’s independent,
but I know she’s not. She thinks
She’s better than me. That might
be true, but I’ll never admit that.
She’s smarter than me and kinder,
but I’ll never admit that either.
She thinks I’m a liar and a thief
and a bad person. I don’t know how
to defend myself anymore. She’s
in college now, I barely graduated high
school. She has big dreams, I never
had any. She doesn’t like conflict, which
is why She barely says a word to me,
but I know what She’s thinking. She’s
nothing like me, Her opinion. I’ll never
believe it. She has my eyes.
