Worldly Woes

I am your canvas. Paint me all shades of black and blue. Add some purples, some yellows, add a little green too.
Add a brushstroke for that little starving boy subjected to solitude in Cambodia. One for those girls who were deceivingly snatched from their school in Nigeria. Please don't forget that unemployed, determined mother of three in America. We, are one, together.
The night sky swallowed their sun. And they screamed for help where there was none.
Hung low their heavy heads in despair. To conceal a look of desperation in search of the rare.
You'll find that I am your canvas. Paint me all shades of black and blue. Add some purples, some yellows, add some green too.
A brushstroke for that grandmother battling breast cancer watching her life drain. Don't forget the chaos within the government brewing in the Ukraine. Remember that ship of 300 people the ocean restrains. We, are one, together.
Let me sob the tears that belong to you when you've grown tired and your eyes are red and swollen.
I'll take your sighs, your blood chilling screams; I'll take on all of your burdens.
Because, I am your canvas. Paint me all shades of black and blue. Add some purples, some yellows, add a little green too.
