A World of Kindness

Location

What would our world be like

if everyone was treated equally?

If every person were given the kindness they deserve

No matter their race or religion

their color or the car they drive

What if we just shared kindness

What if everyone were given

an equal opportunity to succeed

Money didn't buy greatness

Integrity, Hard Work and Thoughtfulness did

What if we raised this next generation

to look at the world differently than we do

If they gave everyone a chance

Raising kind thoughtful young people

is what I do, what I will do everyday

until that world of kindness becomes a reality.

I am a daycare teacher. My job is not glamorous, but it is important. Many children will go throug my daycare center and will go on to become citizens of this world. They will make decisions and treat people with either respect and kindness or hate and disdain. Being educated in child development, in developmentally appropriate practices, anti-bias education, and learning environment and curriculum planning (to name a few of the classes I'm taking this semester) puts me on the road to success in helping these children grow and develop into kind human beings. I know that being a daycare teacher, a preschool teacher, and even an elementary school teacher does not pay well in this world. I've been told this many times by anyone and everyone who I have ever told my major to. But despite this knowledge I know that what I am doing is more important than the money I will recieve for it. I'm helping these kids grow up, these kids are our future and how they treat others is something I can help them learn. A world of kindness isn't so far away with a few good early childhood teachers in this world.
