I can't take it
Everywhere I look there is despair
The news informs me of the horror in which I live
Another man dead from the war
Thirty kids dead in a school shooting
I can't handle this world of despair

I'm sure heaven would be much nicer
A land of love,
A place of hope,
A land with no harm,
A place of peace
I must escape this world of despair

I look down and watch
As the cool crimson flows from my veins
Onto my pale white skin
Yet no relief from this world of despair

Swallow the pills
One
Two
Three
Four
Like an alcoholic gulps down ale
Look to the sky and close my eyes
Fall into the land of escape
Never to return again to this world of despair.
