Words of Mine

Thu, 08/06/2015 - 01:00 -- Minnow

In your life

Far, far away from me

Does the sun shine

For you?

Do you ever stop

And hear the words

Of the world?

Can we be free to fly

Like the words that come from within

Or are we forever trapped

Like the words that come from within?

Hey, dear friend

I think we are free

In this place, in these words

I think we can fly

Like our imaginations do

When everything else traps us

In our words we can let go

Of our fears and our lies

Once upon a time I met a brilliant boy

Who loves numbers like he loves me

“Knowing what to expect only helps

If you know how to prepare”

He said

What kind of fears hide behind such words?

Hey, dear friend

I don’t want to be forgotten

Like a simple word

I don’t want to be thrown away

Like a blank page

Within this emptiness there is a dot

A simple moment in time

A second, a fraction of a second

That’s all we are

Tick tock, tick tock

Time passes us all by

Hey, dear friend

I want to be timeless

I want my writing to be remembered

I don’t want to be a fraction of a second

I don’t want to be a forgotten word on a page

Can we help each other?

Or do we all write uselessly?

Can we share our ideas?

Through words I will share mine with the world

Can we bring light to each other?

Or are our words always darkness?

Darkness now closes in

Does this darkness have a name?

Is it your name?
