Words Aren't Enough

Her eyes swollen from the tears,

whites of them wide with fears.

She's been so strong, she's carried on,

but  how long can she go along?

Pushing through everything she does,

she doesn't feel like there's any love.

What's next?

To where does she take her next step?

Will this be the end?

Part of her wishes she could just give in.

"Everything happens for a reason."

They keep saying that, but she doesn't see it.

Would God really let her be beaten, broken,

degraded and taken advantage of?

Would He let her whole world crumble around her,

let everyone see this hidden side of her?

What else will fall apart?

Who else will break her heart?

Where will she go?

Who does she let know?

Does she want to seem weak?

It's not her fault he saw she was meek.

Does she hide?

Does she cry?

Does she run?

Does she kill herself with a gun?

Screaming, wailing, it feels like she is failing.

She's lost.

Her quietness cost her.

Everything is ending.

She's finally spending her sanity.

Who will believe her?

Who will relieve her of this burden?

"I know how you feel," they say.

How dare they take that away?!

Screaming, crying, all she can do is keep trying to explain.

No one acknowledges her pain.

It doesn't come and go,

it reels through her mind like a non-stop show.

The pain won't end,

because the one who broke her was her friend.
