Fill the blank spaces
Make thoughts clearer

Throughout the ages
Words and their power
Stole and stirred hearts
Gave strength and hope

Letters arranged
In a just so fashion
Make meaning and art
Create stories and worlds

Emotions conveyed
Through pen on paper
Read to the world
Have the ability to conquer

Look inside and see the thoughts
The feelings that the author had
Look into the meanings
And hidden treasures of each line

Poetry speaks to the heart
In ways some cannot understand
Mysterious and beautiful
Wide open and disguised

A picture’s worth a thousand words
But words say something deeper
In their rhythm and their pattern
And the space between the lines

And there is an intent and purpose
That a picture cant compare to
In the way words are strung together
Like beads on a necklace

Perhaps a picture is worth words
But words create a picture
