Words like death

Remind me of life

And your absence...

you were once here

A dark and stormy night

With fierce winds

Directs an unlucky branch

Still on the ground

as the tree stands tall

A sad song

About the sun shining

Is left unsung

How to remember lyrics

Amidst such grief?

It’s easier to forget

The unknown

the words

Words like hope, imagination

Lost, afraid, alone

all words that would not be

If it were not

for confidence

And Repetition over and over

Words like religion

Packed with prayers

Just good intentions

Words words words

Are the masks

That hide our souls..

The true being

Behind existence

And yet the words

Left unspoken

Do not mean a thing

To anyone
