words

Tue, 04/21/2020 - 15:19 -- avn77

when I was thirteen years old,

I discovered the power of words.

not just in the philosophical sense,

not just in academic settings.

no, I discovered how deeply words can cut, deeper than the sharpest knife

people weave their words in and out of your bloodstream, leaving you bleeding and wounded and broken.

it was words than ensnared my senses and embedded themselves in my brains

it was words that constantly attacked the crevices of my mind, their reverb implanting themselves in my neurons

words, the finicky little letters that lead to not so subtle poisoning

It’s words that gives you headaches and heartbreaks and tingles in your spine

so why do I give them an outlet in this piece of writing of mine?

well, I haven’t quite figured that out yet.
