Words

Words are spoken often too much

When all that’s needed is a touch

Touch a person’s heart and you’ve done no harm

But speak the wrong words and you can cause a storm

Words can hinder your true feelings

But they can also bring forth healing

The words we speak are a powerful privilege we hold

But sometimes those words can leave us feeling cold

For the words that took only a moment to say

Can stay with a person for days upon days

Words can lift a spirit higher than the sky

And the love those words express will never die

But be careful little tongue what you say today

Because kind or cruel, those words will remain always
