Word of Mouth Drawn on Paper

Lips tumble from lips,

fingers pull at fingers,

and words sit heavily on the tongue.

Ears quiver with the sense of quill on paper,

emotions presed out in black ink--

life growing from stains strewn across blank backgrounds.

You speak because your thoughts take you by the throat and squeeze tight.

I write because my fears wrap around my heart and whisper sweet nothings.
